These terms cover this website and the Cinefliq app. The app is early access: it works, a small number of people are signed in to it, and it is still being built around them.

Who runs this

Cinefliq is an independent project operated by an individual based in India. It is not a registered company at this time, and nothing on this site should be read as suggesting otherwise.

Early access, and what that means for you

This is the part worth reading twice, because it is the honest description of what you are using rather than a disclaimer we hope you skip.

• The app is provided as it is. It may be broken, offline, or wrong about a film.
• Features may change or be removed without notice, including ones you rely on.
• We may need to reset or migrate data while the shape of it is still changing. We will avoid that where we can and warn you where we can, and we cannot promise either.
• We may end the service. If we do, we will give what notice we reasonably can, and delete what we hold rather than sell it or hand it on.
• There is no guaranteed support, no service level and no uptime commitment.

None of that is licence to lose your data carelessly. It is a statement that a project at this stage cannot make the promises a finished product can, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.

Your account

Using the app needs an account. You are responsible for what happens under it, so keep your sign in to yourself. Tell us at hello@cinefliq.com if you think somebody else has got into it.

You must be at least thirteen to have one, which is the same age the Privacy Policy states. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission as well.

One account per person. You can delete yours from inside the app at any time and it takes effect immediately; the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what goes with it.

What you put in

You write a handle, a display name, a bio, list names, and notes attached to things you share. You may upload a picture. All of that stays yours.

You give us permission to store it and to show it to the people you meant it for, which is what makes the social features work at all: your name and picture have to be visible to a room you join, and a list name has to be visible to the people in the list. That permission is limited to running the service and lasts as long as the content is in it. We do not use what you write to advertise, and we do not licence it to anybody else.

You promise that what you post is yours to post, and that a picture you upload is one you have the right to use.

How to behave towards other people

The social parts of the app put you in front of real people, and there is very little between you and them but this section. So it matters.

• Do not harass, threaten or abuse anyone, through shares, follows, list names, or anything else you can type.
• Do not impersonate somebody in a handle, a display name or a picture.
• Do not upload a picture that is sexual, hateful, violent, or somebody else's.
• Do not use shares or follows to send unwanted or commercial messages.
• Do not try to reach data that is not yours, automate the app against our systems, or overload them.

What you can do about somebody. Every person in the app has a block and report control on their row. Blocking removes any follow between you in both directions, stops them finding you in search, hides your profile from them, and stops them sending you anything. They are not told. You can undo it under Settings, then Blocked, and undoing it does not restore any follow. Reporting sends the reason and anything you add to us, and a person reads it. You can do both at once, which is usually what people want.

You can also remove a follower, and leave a list or a room, at any time. If something is urgent, email hello@cinefliq.com. If you are in danger, please contact your local authorities rather than waiting on us.

Removing things, and closing accounts

We may remove content that breaks the section above, and we may suspend or close an account used to abuse other people or our systems. Where it is not urgent we will say why first.

If an account goes, the lists it owns go with it, including titles other members added. That is worth knowing before you build something shared on top of somebody else's account. Lists that account was only a member of survive without it.

Other people's content is theirs

A list somebody shared with you, a note they wrote, or a picture they uploaded is theirs and not yours to republish. Being able to see something in the app is not permission to take it out of the app.

No payment

The app is free today and nothing in it can be bought. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no payment details anywhere in it. If that ever changes it will change with notice, and it will not turn something you already have into something you must pay for without telling you first.

What this website is

A description of a product that is not on sale. Reading it:

• costs nothing and involves no payment details,
• does not reserve you a place, an account or early access,
• does not create a contract between us,
• does not oblige us to launch, on any date or at all.

There is nothing here to sign up for. A waitlist form was offered for a period and has been withdrawn; no addresses were collected through it and no list is held.

No promises about the product

Everything described on this site is what we intend to build. Features may change, be delayed or be dropped. No store release date has been set. Pricing has not been decided beyond the app being free today, and nothing here should be taken as a commitment either way.

Cinefliq does not host, stream or sell any film or television programme. It tells you where something is available and sends you there; whether you can actually watch it is between you and that service.

Film information

Poster artwork, titles, ratings and descriptions come from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Those materials remain the property of their respective rights holders. Streaming availability is supplied by JustWatch through TMDB, and it can be out of date or wrong for where you are.

Using this site fairly

Please do not submit other people's details, automate submissions, attempt to overload the form, or try to gain access to systems behind this site. We may remove entries that appear to be automated or abusive.

Availability

This is a pre-launch site and an early access app, run by one person. Either may be offline, change or disappear without notice, and both are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or the app, including lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud, and nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be signed away.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site or the app after a change means the updated terms apply. If a change is significant we will say so in the app rather than only here.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India will have jurisdiction over any dispute.
